Company

Padgett, Inc. – your full-service crane rental, machinery moving, rigging, steel fabrication and erection company – was founded in 1962 by Jim Padgett. Jim opened his first shop in New Albany, Indiana at West 5th & Main Streets in a 25’ x 50’ welding shop with one truck and one welder. Jim soon expanded Padgett, Inc. into crane service by building his own boom truck. By 1982, steady growth and customer demands created the need to expand our fabrication and warehousing facilities into our current location at 901 East Fourth Street in New Albany, Indiana. This custom built facility has allowed Padgett to provide quality goods and services to meet the expectations of our customers by keeping material and labor cost low.

Jim’s philosophy of hard work, well-maintained equipment and his dedication to honest and fair treatment of customers and employees is the formula that has created a business that continually grows.

Jim’s team of qualified and skilled employees have helped Padgett, Inc. earn its reputation as “the best in class” within the region.
